דפנה רחביה היא אומנית רב-תחומית ופסיכותראפיסטית באמנות ילידת תל-אביב מתגוררת בפנסילבניה ארה”ב.. רחביה חוקרת בעבודותיה מצבים קיומיים והשפעותיהם על זהות מפרספקטיבה אישית ופוליטית. עבודותיה עוסקות בדיאלוג סביב דרכי חיים ואובדן, בהקשר לשינויי חיים, תהליכי הגירה וטראומה. עבודתה משלבת מתודות פסיכולוגיות ואמנותיות ומתמקדת בחומריות הגוף כאתר בו מתהוות זהויות האדם וכמוקד הנושא פצעים אישיים וקולקטיביים המשתלבים לכדי אחד
אירועי אוקטובר 7 ,2023 טרפו את הקלפים המחשבות התחושות החיים עברו זעזוע והלב התרסק לרסיסים וכל המיקוד האומנות שהתרכז בפציעה ותהליכי הישרדות קיבל מימד עוצמתי
חקר השיחים הדומיננטים במרחבים הפוליטים של ארצות הברית וישראל משפיעים וממשיכים להיות מונכחים בעבודות שמכלילות רדי מייד, מיצבים, אדמה וחול. הכל טעון בהיסטוריה טריה , אנרגיה ואספקטים זהותיים שעוברים פירוק, חילול וטיפול באופן סיקליקאלי, לעיתים מיצגים אלימות סימבולית ושבירות לצד ריפוי סימבולי. העבודות עוסקות במוות וכאב מחפשות עידון ונישאבות לפציעה אלימה, ההליך האומנותי של אומנות אקטיבית מבוססת פרוסס התמקמה והתמרכזה בעבודותיה של רחביה. התכנים הפסיכולוגים והחקירה נעשית דרך ההליך האומנותי עצמו מבלי להתיפייף. החומריות העירומה נישארת גולמית כפי שניתן לראות בתערוכתה האחרונה שהתקיימה בנובמבר 2024 בגלריות של ‘אייר’ בפיטסבורג פנסילבניה וכן בתערוכתה שהוצגה במהלך הרסידנסי בחלל של ‘בום קוספט’.
רחביה הציגה בתערוכות סולו וקבוצתיות במקומות שונים ביניהם תל אביב, פיטסבורג, בולטימור, בוסטון, ניו יורק, אמסטרדאם, וירצבורג. זכתה בפרס צ'לסי לאומנות לעבודתה 'מילת נשים' והוזמנה להשתתף בתערוכה ב'אגורה גלרי' ניו יורק. התקבלה לתערוכה בינלאומית לאומני פייבר עם סידרת עבודותיה על מילת נשים. ב-2019 עבדה בארט רסידנסי שבוירצבורג, גרמניה יצרה עבודות סביב זיכרון קולקטיבי ופיוס. ב-2020 השתתפה בביאנלה של אומנים מהגרים בנושא של 'שפת אם' עם עבודותיה 'ת.ז./עירוי' שהתקימה בברוקלין ניו יורק. והמשיכה לארט רסידנסי בפיטסבורג שהתמשכה לתוך ,2021 בו יצרה מיצב שעוסק בטראומה קולקטיבית. דפנה הזמינה לחלל המיצב שתי רקדניות לחקור את היחסים והתגובות לטראומה דרך שיח בתנועה עם האומנות, כפי שיצרה שיחים בתנועה בתערכתה בבלטימור

Dafna Rehavia is a mixed media artist and an art-psychotherapist. Alternate between her home town Tel-Aviv and Pittsburgh PA. In her artistic journey she has explored existential and identity struggles from personal and sociocultural perspectives. She examines metaphors of the body-self as a site of injury. Her found-art and installations respond to the ways authoritative discourses trap and control the body-self. Transitions, and Dehumanization in any form shape color or state, has a strong effect on her practice. Earth and sand emerged in her installations, representing temporariness and transformation. Symbolic violence appears in her installation using bounded, broken or disformed Found Objects and made objects. Rehavia exhibited in solo and group shows in Tel-Aviv, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, New-York, Boston, Amsterdam, and Wurzburg. In New York she was awarded the Chelsea International Fine Arts award for her work Cutting. In 2019 she had an art residency in Wurzburg, Germany resulting in the works Collective Memory, and Reconciliation. She exhibited in the Fiber Art International with her art addressing Female Genital Mutilation. In 2020 Rehavia exhibited in New York in the Immigrant Artist Biennale in which she presents IV.ID. Installation, questioning identity and healing, in “Here Together!
